Boston Club Corporate Salute Draws Record Numbers, January 2017 Declared Women’s Leadership Month

On December 7th, The Boston Club held its annual Corporate Salute and celebrated the Club’s 40th anniversary. The event broke attendance records with 835 attendees and culminated in the declaration of January 2017 as Women’s Leadership Month by Governor Charlie Baker. Beth Comstock, Vice Chairman of GE was the keynote speaker.  

The Club released its most recent census of women directors and executive officers, reporting increases in the percentage of seats held by women on boards (18.6%) and the number of companies with three or more women directors (19), as well as a decrease in the number of companies with no women on their boards (17). The census found essentially no change in the executive officers category, which decreased from 12.1 to 12.0%. Read more.
