Corpgov.net is a blog which covers hot issues in boardrooms and proxy battles. It also provides links to dozens of other sites investors can use to research and communicate about proxy and corporate governance issues.
Investor.gov/proxy-matters/ is an SEC-sponsored educational website that provides general information about how to vote and why voting is important. It also provides information on SEC proxy rulemaking.
Moxy Vote is a free online proxy voting service that allows retail investors to vote their proxy ballots easily and electronically. It also publishes information and guidance provided by over 30 “Advocates,” mostly socially responsible mutual fund companies, unions, environmental groups and public interest groups on various proxy issues including diversity and corporate governance.
Investors can vote shares directly on Moxy Vote using the control number found on mailed paper proxy ballots. Or, individuals can request to have all of their proxies delivered electronically on Moxy Vote. In addition, users can follow Advocates on the site with ballot opinions or suggestions and pre-set their ballots to vote alongside these organizations. Pax World, an ION partner, is an Advocate on the Moxy site.
Proxy Democracy is a not for profit, nonpartisan project supported by foundations interested in corporate governance and responsible investing to help individual investors become more informed investors and use their voting power more effectively. It publicizes the intended votes of institutional investors with a track record of shareholder engagement and helps mutual fund investors understand the voting records of leading funds.
Social Investment Forum is a national not for profit membership association dedicated to promoting the concept and practice of socially and environmentally responsible investing. Its membership is comprised of financial professionals, institutions, researchers, foundations, community development organizations and public educators that provide information about portfolio selection analysis, shareholder advocacy and community investing.
