For the seventh year, the Financial Women’s Association is partnering with Forbes on a special section featured in the December 28, 2015 Forbes Investment Guide. This year’s edition, “In Good Company: The Future of Women in Data Driven Leadership,” focuses on opportunities for women to lead data strategy in a wide range of organizations. The article highlights the work FWA in preparing women to lead, starting with FWA’s High School Mentoring program in NYC.

The Financial Women’s Association has announced plans for their international conference to be held in Singapore and Hong Kong, March 14 – March 20, 2016. Participants will meet with international leaders of industry, government and finance, while gaining insights into international trade. The Boston Club has updated its research for women on boards in Massachusetts and is reporting that the 100 largest public companies in Massachusetts have set new records in terms of the percentage of women in their boardrooms (16.1%) and executive suites (12.1%). In addition, the number of new independent directors who are women and the percentage of women among the top-paid executives of these companies reached all-time highs in the year ending June 30, 2015.
Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) will honor the 2016 Top 25 Most Powerful Women for their professional achievements and leadership within the Denver community at a gala event on January 20, 2016. Launched in 2012, a Top 25 honoree is typically a president, CEO, board chair or other senior-management executive with significant decision-making authority in the corporate, non-profit or government sector.
Approximately 40 successful women directors of Maryland public companies gathered to network with other women directors, board chairs and CEOs at W. R. Grace & Co., in Columbia, Maryland, on October 8, 2015. The reception was organized by Network 2000 and Stanton Chase International as part of their mission to expand opportunities for more women to obtain seats on corporate boards.

Central Exchange Celebrates 35 Years of Service with “35 for 35” Project
ION member organization, the Central Exchange, celebrated its 35th anniversary in June by kicking off the “35 for 35” Project, which encourages Central Exchange members to volunteer their time to the community. Central Exchange has identified 35 area nonprofit organizations and is scheduling specific days for volunteering at each organization.
Central Exchange chief executive CiCi Rojas noted that the “35 for 35” project has two goals – to create networking opportunities for its members and to support community organizations. Dates have Full Article
